There’s this popular saying that your eyes are the window to your soul. They can reveal so much about you. They can show a whole array of different emotions, even when the rest of your face and body does not. Bright, beautiful eyes can also indicate youth.
In our culture, youth is prized.

Your face, and your eyes, are one of the very first things that people notice when they see you. Any lines, wrinkles, and dark spots, no matter how minor, can make you look older than you really are. And, unfortunately, the delicate skin around the eyes is very susceptible to aging. Between showing a whole myriad of emotions from joy to sadness, and spending countless hours outside in the sunshine, your eyes are one of the very first places to start showing signs of aging. Sagging eyelids, crow’s feet, and dark circles and crepiness under the eyes can all age you well beyond your years.

Fighting these signs of aging can be an eye-opening (no pun intended!) experience. Unlike other areas of your body, you can’t simply throw something on to cover up the trouble spots. While makeup can help to hide some signs, it cannot solve your eye woes. At Clarity Medical Aesthetics, we can help restore the youthful appearance of your eyes with eye rejuvenation treatment therapies. We offer several different treatments to help you achieve the results you want.

BOTOX®

BOTOX (botulinum toxin) is a natural, purified protein that is injected into the skin, and is designed to temporarily relax facial muscles.  This can greatly help to reduce the appearance of crows feet and “11’s” which are the vertical lines between your eyebrows. These lines and wrinkles form as a result of muscle movement (every time you laugh or cry!). Botulinum toxin helps relax these muscles which in turn relax and soften lines. Not only do these injections help to reduce wrinkles, they can also allow more light into the eyes, making them appear more youthful and bright. Because the injections are only temporary, they need to be done about 3 to 4 times per year for optimal results. BOTOX, Dysport and Xeomin are three of the top makers of botulinum toxin, at Clarity we offer all three to our patients.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injections of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. There are several types of dermal fillers, including Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, Sculptra, Bellafil, and Bolero. They are injected under the skin, and the liquid fills the empty space that has been created due to loss of collagen.

Some dermal fillers (Radiesse, Sculptra, Bellafil) can even stimulate new collagen production. They help to diminish lines, wrinkles, dark circles, and the hollows of the upper and lower lids. Feeling a little overwhelmed by all of these options? Not to worry. We can help you to find the best dermal fillers to provide you with the best results!

Eye rejuvention before and after

I used Restylane Refyne in this patient’s under eye area, allowing for an excellent correction without excessive swelling or discoloration.

PRF

Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is a treatment that utilizes your own blood. It might sound a little strange (and maybe you’re feeling a little freaked out), but hear us out. Your blood contains platelets, which are essential for tissue regeneration and healing. Fibrin is the foundation, or “scaffold,” that forms in response to an injury. Platelets bind to the fibrin network and release growth factors. These growth factors generate new skin cells, collagen, and blood vessels. PRF can help to reduce wrinkles, discoloration, and improve crepey skin, and can increase volume and overall skin health.

Radio Frequency

Radio frequency is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes energy. When the radio frequecy energy passes through your skin tissue, they generate heat. The heat causes collagen to thicken and tighten. Most patients see an immediate improvement with continued improvement and tightening up to 12 weeks following your treatment. This treatment is especially effective when combined with microneedling.  See below for more information on this treatment.

Microneedling

If you’ve never heard the term “microneedling” before, it can sound like a frightening procedure. While a multi-needle head tool is used, it’s not nearly as scary as it seems. Microneedling is one form of a mechanical peel, which is an alternative to the traditional chemical peel. The procedure perforates the delicate skin around the eye area. This perforation or as we call it “damaging your skin on purpose” signals the body to send growth factors to the site.  Growth factors help to thicken the skin and build collagen, providing a more intense, longer lasting result than a chemical peel would. With microneedling, we can tighten the skin around your eyes and smooth crepey skin, giving your eyes back their youthful radiance.
