Happy, healthy and vibrant skin is the key to a flawless, youthful look at any age. Most of us know that this is true, however, not everyone knows what they should be doing to take care of their skin at their given age. With tons of serums, procedures, peels, tools, and techniques on the market, navigating the way to the “fountain of youth” can seem daunting.
Fear not, we have good news! The journey to a youthful glow is surprisingly easy, and if you want to make sure you look your best at any age, all you need to do is follow our age-based formula below.
A Youthful Glow at 25-35
At this age, your skin is full of life, and it seems like it’s on top of the world, impervious to the effects of aging. That statement is true and false. Your skin is full of life, but definitely not armed against the effects of time, sun, lifestyle, and the environment. However, this is the age where you need to start understanding how to take care of yourself so that your skin continues to look it’s best as you get older. Many people avoid this because they think, ‘what’s the harm in waiting.? My skin looks great’. The issue with that kind of thinking is that it’s much more difficult to reverse damage that has appeared, and so much easier to prevent damage.
The first and one of the most important steps in a daily skincare routine is to get yourself a daily moisturizer with SPF and use it EVERYDAY regardless of the weather. Our staff preference is any of the moisturizers with SPF from EltaMD. They offer formulas that are uniquely created for different skin types.
The second important step is a cleanser that removes makeup and pollutants and cleanse skin morning and night every single day. Ridding skin of daily pollutants is the best way to keep blackheads, blemishes, and other pesky skin issues at bay.
A chemical peel is another step that you can take for your skin, a light to medium peel helps promote skin cell turnover. Removing the outermost dead layers of skin and encouraging new, healthy cell production is a great way to start your journey to maintaining youthful glowing skin. Depending on your skin conditions at this age, a peel can be performed every 6 weeks.
BOTOX/Dysport/Xeomin/Juveau – are all toxins which help to soften muscle movement that tend to cause wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows and crowsfeet. You may say – “I’m too young for BOTOX!! and I don’t have really deep wrinkles” – we say you may not now, but you will as muscle movement continues. Think of this as preventative – don’t let the wrinkle form.
Eye cream is beneficial at this age (and any age, really). The delicate skin around our eyes tend to show the first signs of age. We rub them, scratch them, apply makeup to them, cry, allergies, and it all affects this delicate skin. Start early by treating this skin kindly.
A HydraFacial is a delivers instant results that you can see and feel. It’s a three-step treatment; first cleanse and light peel, second gentle extraction and hydration, third, infuse and protect skin with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your glow. This treatment is really perfect for every age group.
A Youthful Glow at 35-45
When we reach this age, our skin tends to start showing the wear and tear that we have suffered, but it is here that you will start noticing things that you didn’t before. You’re starting to see lines and some wrinkles, or dark spots from the sun, and more. To protect your skin, you can keep doing the same steps from the list above, but you can also add these treatments to your skincare regimine.
Microneedling, a procedure that uses a mechanical multi-needle wand to perforate the skin, works by shedding surface layers helping with textural skin concerns. It is designed to help the skin shed damaged layers to reveal skin tissue that is smoother, firmer, more even-toned skin. It’s also minimally invasive (requires no downtime) and is considered safe for most people.
Fillers are a great choice to help add volume to areas that are beginning to show the inevitable loss of collagen. The first signs of volume loss may appear in our cheeks, lips, and jowls. Adding filler to these areas not only helps the structure look youthful, it helps to “fill” up the skin softening the look of lines and wrinkles.
Fractora is a fractional radio frequency treatment that is used to rejuvenate and resurface the skin. It helps boost your collagen production and gives your skin the ability to maintain the elasticity that it tends to lose as you get older.

Now is the best time to add a retinol to your weekly regimen. Retinol is the best treatment to promote skin cell turnover – basically out with the old and in with the new! New, fresh, healthy skin! Turning skin over is the goal! New healthy skin cells help to reduce textural issues, reduce fine lines and plumps out your skin.
A Youthful Glow at 45-55
Time to add a serum to your skincare routine to help combat effects of aging which can include pigment changes, hormone-induced melasma and uneven texture. Clarity Brightening C, Light & Tight are 2 great options to put into your weekly skincare rotation.
Sunspots, redness, and tiny facial veins tend to show up during this decade. An “Intense Pulse Light or IPL” treatment like Lumecca targets reds and browns and helps to lighten them over the course of several treatments. Dark spots will first darken before they slough off over time revealing brighter, clearer skin.
Morpheus for skin tightening, an injected radio frequency treatment has proven to be incredibly effective in tightening sagging, textured skin. The depth of the RF energy targets collagen production and goes to work tighten sagging skin. We recommend 1 morpheus treatment per decade of life – so at 45, you would benefit from 4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. If you have advanced signs of aging, more treatments may be added to enhace your results.
A Youthful Glow at 55-65
Keep doing everything that we have prescribed above, and consider boosting your nightly moisturizer to maintain moisture level – dehydrated skin does not look fresh on anyone, no matter their age!
During this decade it’s possible fillers alone aren’t replacing lost collagen. PDO thread lift is a great option to help reposition sagging skin. It works by utilizing the power of suture material to build a scaffold in the dermis to “hold” skin up against gravity.
FaceTite/AccuTite – provides results that are the closest to a facelift you can achieve without surgery. FaceTite is an excellent option to tighten and lift the jawline and neck while AccuTite targets smaller areas of concern like upper and lower lids.
