Everyone desires a full, luscious head of hair, but as we age, thinning and hair loss can impact the way we look and feel.

Not to mention, certain medical conditions, genetic traits, menopause, and even stressful life events can make the whole situation worse.

To combat these issues, Clarity Medical Aesthetics offers a science-backed solution to combat hair loss and stimulate sluggish hair follicles that combines two tried and true interventions, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy combined with micro-needling along with our recent addition of ACell. ACell is a cutting-edge treatment and it’s now included free of charge with our Hair Restoration Treatment Therapy.

What is ACell?

ACell Fine MicroMatrix labeled as a “medical device” is a product used for wound healing. Research has shown that ACell is effective in supporting and maintaining a healing environment.

For hair restoration therapy, ACell is combined with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and injected into the scalp. The application of ACell and PRP causes miniaturized, sluggish hair follicles to become stronger, healthy and larger, resulting in potent hair regrowth.

ACell activates adult stem cells and PRP is loaded with growth factors that promote the rapid growth of new blood vessels from existing blood vessels. ACell’s MatriStem® technology is a naturally occurring material that leads to new blood vessel formation and stimulates cells to work on the area of injury. White blood cells will flock to the area and help to rebuild and regrow.

How Does the Hair Restoration Process Work?

The process is a three-pronged approach that includes PRP, micro-needling, and ACell.

PRP is found in our own blood. They’re platelet-rich plasma or nutrient-rich blood cells that contain essential growth factors. When injected into the area of treatment, they help with tissue regeneration and healing.

Micro-needling utilizes a multi-needle head to perforate the scalp causing intentional and controlled damage further stimulating the body’s natural response to send growth factors to the “injured” site.

Next, the ACell and PRP are injected into the scalp. These treatments are safe, easy, and clinical results show this nonsurgical procedure is effective in stimulating hair regrowth.

What to Expect with Hair Restoration

Hair restoration PRP therapy consists of four treatment sessions that are approximately 45 minutes each, every four to six weeks.

During your procedure, your esthetician will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. Then, you can relax for 45-60 minutes while it takes effect. Next, your blood will be drawn, and while it’s being separated via the centrifuge, we will apply our micro-needling technique to the targeted area. Then the ACell | PRP will be injected into the scalp.

If possible, it’s best to wait 24 hours before you wash your hair after treatment. There is no downtime, but patients typically bring a hat or head covering to wear home.

Clarity has our own compounded minoxidil 7.5%/tretinoin topical solution, when used at home, further boosts the effectiveness of this aggressive treatment therapy. One 60ml bottle is included with the treatment therapy.
