2022 is right around the corner, so ahead of this new year, we thought we’d take a look at the hottest aesthetic trends that are ahead of us.

Whether you’re looking to address maskne or boost collagen, there’s a treatment for you on this list.

What Are the Key Skincare Trends for 2022?

1. Pre-juvenation. Younger patients, such as those in their mid-20s to early 30s, are choosing to invest in their skin by seeking out  medical-grade skincare treatments. This may include Botox  treatments to prevent lines from forming as well as seeking out collagen-stimulating treatments such as micro-needling and mild chemical peels. Taking these steps early can help prevent signs of aging rather than needing to correct them later.

2. Combination treatment therapies. Patients are opting for combos of different treatment options including injectable treatments (like fillers and Botox) and radiofrequency skin tightening (RF) treatments. Micro-needling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or exosomes, intense pulsed light therapy (IPL), and chemical peels … the treatments options are endless to help with all signs of aging.

3. Maskne solutions. With no real endpoint to mask-wearing, we’ll continue to see the need for solutions for irritated, congested, and stressed skin due to wearing these face coverings regularly. Stress is also a contributing factor to maskne. Solutions may include chemical peels, HydroFacials, and exfoliating acids.

4. Laser skin resurfacing. From ablative (CO2 laser a.k.a. the “big guns”) to mild collagen-boosting maintenance treatments like Laser Genesis, patients will be choosing to resurface their skin to help stimulate collagen production improving its appearance and lessen the signs of aging.

5. Regenerative aesthetic treatments – PRP and Exosomes. Platelet-rich plasma (known as PRP) and Exosomes both harness regenerative powers. PRP – platelet rich plasma is derived from a patients own blood. It contains hundreds of natural growth factors. Exosomes are small shuttles that contain growth factors, RNA and a variety of proteins. Exosomes communicate and transport important information to other cells.  Both of these treatments harness rejuvenating powers to skin and scalp.
