WHAT IS IT?
SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable in the US to improve skin smoothness of the cheeks for glowing skin. This product increases hydration to improve skin smoothness and provide a lasting glow for up to 6 months with optimal treatment.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
SkinVive is a gel, and, as with other hyaluronic acid-based fillers, it’ll be injected beneath your skin. (However, it’ll likely be more superficial than typical dermal fillers, since it’s designed to benefit skin at the surface.) SkinVive utilizes hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that binds water molecules, to replace lost hydration and counter the skin aging effects of lost collagen and elastin. Unlike its peers, the goal of SkinVive is to hydrate skin, versus plump it.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Topical anesthetic and/or ice is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment
- Multiple superficial injections spread across treatment area
- Ice may be given post TX if needed to ease discomfort and/or swelling
- This is a quick 15-minute procedure (not including numbing time)
DOWNTIME/SIDE EFFECTS
- No downtime. But we recommended avoiding strenuous exercise, makeup and sun exposure for 24 hours post treatment
- Patient may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising, lumps/bumps or tenderness at the injection site(s). If any occur, typically mild
- Be sure to discuss your plans prior to receiving treatment.
BENEFITS SEEN
Benefits seen in 1 – 10 days. Most patients experience improved skin hydration and smoothness for up to six months. Individual results may vary based on skincare routines, genetics, and other treatments.
