Intense Pulse Light treatments can diminish many signs of sun damage and aging, from sun spots to redness.

IPL – Intense Pulse Light

WHAT IS IT?

Commonly referred to as a Photofacial, this intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment sends light below the skin’s surface to target the blood vessels and melanin that cause the discoloration above. Without breaking the skin, the IPL penetrates to destroy the blemish- and spot-causing blood vessels and melanin below. Despite the power of IPL, you won’t have any real downtown from this treatment other than the look and feel of sunburn.

Your participation in IPL treatment is vital to its success. Patients must commit to staying out of the sun, wear an SPF everyday, as well as a hat when outdoors. Also no tanning beds or self-tanning in any form as self-tanners react with skins melanin.  IPL treatments should be performed in a series spaced about a month apart. Patients usually need 3-5 treatments to achieve great results. At Clarity we utilize the powerful LuMecca IPL handpiece by InMode – it is state of the art and considered to be one of the most effective devices delivering Intense Pulse Light treatments today.
